OUTGOING midfielder Jamie Griffiths has tipped AFC Sudbury for promotion next season, believing it will finally be their year.
Former Ipswich Town academy graduate Griffiths has signed a two-year full-time contract with ambitious Southern League Premier Division side Kettering Town, just relegated from the Conference Premier.
And he is sure Chris Tracey’s side can earn their right to jump up to the same level of the non-League ladder next season, though he does not believe his side will be sticking around to see it.
“I think they will definitely challenge for promotion,” he said. “They did not have a very good start last season but once Chris Tracey took over their form really picked up.”
AFC’s squad returned to pre-season training on Tuesday but one new signing not on display was utility man Rhys Darg, who angered Tracey by doing a U-turn on a verbal agreement to join Mark Morseley’s Ryman Premier outfit Leiston.
