AFC Sudbury’s play-off hopes look to have gone up in smoke after they fell 12 points off the top five after a 2-0 defeat at Heybridge Swifts last night.
Alex Archer looked to be at fault for a goal in each half as Danny Barber and Dumebi GB Dumaka gave fifth-place Swifts a vital three points.
There were worrying scenes for David Batch’s side as the game concluded with top scorer James Baker limping off with an ankle injury.
It is now eight games without a win for Ryman League Robert Dyas Cup finalists Sudbury, who travel to Cheshunt on Saturday (3pm), before hosting Brentwood Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).
