Former AFC Sudbury manager David Batch has returned to his former club to swoop for left-back Jack Wilkinson.

Batch left the Yellows for Southern League Premier Division outfit on December 30 and has returned 10 days later to sign the defender for an undiscolsed fee.

Hadleigh-based Wilkinson, who has previously played for Needham Market and Haverhill Rovers, made 45 appearances and scored three goals during his time at the Wardale Williams Stadium.

Speaking to AFC’s official website, club director Richard Instance said: “Jack wanted to be given the chance to step up a level, we did not want to stand in his way and a satisfactory deal was agreed. We wish him well”
