AFC Sudbury will host Haverhill Rovers in a friendly at the MEL Group Stadium tonight (7.45pm) after their re-arranged game at Needham Market was called off for a second time.
AFC had originally been due to travel to Bloomfields for a Suffolk derby on Boxing Day, before the wet weather led to it being postponed.
But despite little rain falling over the county in last four days, The Bloomfields pitch was deemed unplayable after a mid-morning pitch inspection on Tuesday.
After Saturday’s game at Redbridge also falling victim to the wet weather, David Batch is keen for his side not to get ring rusty and will give them minutes in an open friendly with lower-league side Haverhill Rovers.
Dean Greygoose’s side have applied for promotion to the Ryman League and currently sit fourth in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division table.
AFC have announced admission to the friendly at the MEL Group Stadium on Tuesday will be priced at £5 and £3.
