AFC Sudbury drawn away in opening fixture

AFC Sudbury will be hitting the road in the opening fixture of the new Ryman League Division One North season with a draw away at Thurrock on Saturday, August 10.

Other noticeable dates for the diary are the visit of rivals Needham Market on August bank holiday Monday (26th) before the reverse fixture in a festive Boxing day derby at Bloomfields (December 26).

David Batch’s side’s first home game of the season is against Soham Town Rangers on Tuesday, August 13, while they will conclude the season with a trip to Barkingside on April 26.

n Doubts remain whether the season will start on time because proposed opening day opponents Thurrock are challenging their relegation from the Ryman League Premier Division.
