AFC Sudbury kicked off the new Ryman League Division One North campaign in style with a thumping 5-1 sucess over Cray Wanderers.

Goals from new signing Jake Reed, Sam Clarke, Payton Swatman and two from Michael Shinn sealing all three points for David Batch’s charges.

In the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, last year’s champions Hadleigh United started the defence of their title in winning fashion with a narrow 1-0 victory over Fakenham Town.

In the First Division, Halstead Town cruised to a 6-0 thumping over Downham Town, while Long Melford also picked three points, coming out on top of a five-goal thriller with Great Yarmouth Town to win 3-2.
