Great Cornard saw off Earl Stonham by seven wickets in our pictured Hunts County Bats Suffolk League Division Four match this week.

After Craig Doherty had taken 6-37 with the ball, Chris Cleverly (68no) led Cornard’s victory charge as they cruised home by seven wickets.

Also in Division Four, Steve Martin (77) and James French (45), Nick Wright (32) and Chris Miller (30) helped Acton record 218-4 before bowling out Battisford for 91 in reply.

French (5-27), Chris Sturgeon (4-37) and Mike Griffiths (1-10) took the wickets.

Gary Wiles scored 91 in Hadleigh Academy’s 109-run victory over Nowton Academy to a complete a successful day in Division Four for our sides.

In Division Two, Cavendish Wanderers saw off BSSSC, but Hartest and Coldham were thumped by Stowmarket.

Tendring Park eased past Haverhill II in Division Three, but Edwardstone scored just 89 with the bat in their heavy loss to Exning and Sudbury II — despite Elliott Wooton’s 78no — were beaten by eight wickets against Nowton II.

Milden lost to east Bergholt Academy in Division Five, but Long Melford II won against Walsham-le-Willows II.

There were no Division One fixtures for our sides, but Woolpit hammered Bury St Edmunds to remain locked at the summit with the Talbots.
