HASANTHA Fernando scored a hard-hitting century as Sudbury saw off local rivals Halstead in the East Anglian Premier League on Saturday.

The Sri Lankan smashed 106 off 87 balls — including 14 fours and two sixes — to help Sudbury post 250-6 declared off 60 overs.

Chris Rayner was Halstead’s leading bowler with 4-52.

In reply, Halstead were skittled for 143 with Matthew Hunn taking five wickets and Thomas Philp top scoring with 39.
