Under-17s to battle it out

THE cream of Suffolk’s young cricketers will be in action at Sudbury Cricket Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Suffolk under-17s will be squaring up to the Cambridgeshire Under-17s in the two-day ECB County Championship.

The team this year are captained by Sudbury’s own James Poulson who plays in the EAPL team on a Saturday and the Sunday first team. He has been at the club since he was 10 years old and has come up through their junior coaching system. Also in the Suffolk team is Hadleigh Cricket Club’s Sam Handley.

Both boys have made their debuts for the Suffolk Under-19s team which is Suffolk’s development squad, hopefully leading to a place in the full Minor Counties team. Spectators are welcome at the club with the game starting 11am on both days.
