England cricketer Dean Headley heads to Hadleigh

FORMER England test cricketer Dean Headley will be in action against Hadleigh Cricket Club tonight (Tuesday) as the club formally unveils its new artificial wicket.

As guest of honour Headley will help perform the official opening ceremony at the Cricket Meadow in Friars Road at 5.30pm, before playing in a Twenty20 match on the new wicket between Hadleigh and a BBC Radio Suffolk team. The station will also be broadcasting live from the ground in the evening.

The artificial surface has been partly funded with a grant from the Chance to Shine programme, which Hadleigh is delivering in local schools through its coaches.
