CRICKET ROUND-UP: Haverhill win crucial Hadleigh encounter

Haverhill came out on top in the battle of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One strugglers away at Hadleigh on Saturday afternoon, while there was also victories for Mildenhall and Diss.

Visiting Haverhill went into the clash second from bottom following last week’s defeat at the hands of Witham.

However, Adam Dellar’s men responded on this occasion with a 127-run victory, which saw them leapfrog their hosts in the process.

Elsewhere, Mildenhall remain top of the standings after they eased to a 104-run win over Braintree, with Worlington also recording a seven-wicket triumph against Copford.

However, Halstead slipped to a 96-run loss at the hands of Witham.

In the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier Cricket League, Sudbury beat high-flying Cambridge Granta, while Burwell were held to a draw at home by Great Witchingham.

As for Bury St Edmunds and Woolpit, they both suffered home defeats to Norwich and Swardeston respectively.

In the Dipple and Conway Opticians Norfolk Alliance Premier Division, there were away wins for Diss and Garboldisham, but Old Buckenham suffered defeat on the road at Sprowston.
