AFC continued their excellent start to the season with a hard-fought win. The home side took the lead against the run of play with a superbly struck shot from 20 yards, but AFC responded, Billy Mills neatly lobbing the keeper from a tight angle.
AFC took the lead through Harry Payne, finishing a difficult chance from inside the box. Halstead got an equaliser, but back came AFC a minute before half-time, Payne getting his second with a well-taken left foot shot.

In the second half AFC bega
n to dominate. Man-of-the-match Billy Mills and Brandon New worked hard in midfield.

AFC's fourth came courtesy of a Brandon Steele free kick from 20 yards and then Dan New got a deft touch on a cross to head the fifth. Substitute Jack Steed scored with his first touch, a well-taken volley.

Halstead got their third following a defensive error.

Boxford Rovers

under-14s 0

Cornard Dynamos 5

Boxford were a man short and allowed their neighbours too much freedom.

Cornard took the lead with a Callum Finch header from a corner. Sam Turner headed over the bar and Rovers' keeper Stevie Nice made two good saves before Cornard increased their lead through S Willis, after a Ross Waugh through-ball.

In the second period a ball through the middle sent Will Wingfield away and he got the third, before a well-placed shot in to the corner by T Hayes made it four. A fabulous Waugh free-kick over the Rovers' wall into the top corner of the net completed the scoring.

Hadleigh Utd

under-13s 4

Sutton 5

Hadleigh took the lead in this Suffolk Youth league cup game through man-of-the-match Sean Liggett after a great through ball from Tom Fairweather, but Sutton soon equalised through Weavers.

Hadleigh defended well, but Sutton took a 3-1 interval lead with goals from Heath and Lamell.

Hadleigh came out determined and Liggett scored a superb goal direct from a corner. Sutton hit back, with Weavers getting his second goal

Sutton followed with a further goal scored by Weavers giving him his second goal. Late in the game Finn Clements produced some good work down the wing to put Tom Fairweather through to score.

A great individual goal from Lamell for Sutton, followed by a long range shot from Liggett rounded off an exciting game.

Feering Falcons 6

Clare Town Lions

under-13s 0

THE Lions came down to earth with a bump against a strong Feering. After 10 minutes they went a goal down, and to add to their problems top scorer Jamie Clark came off with a knee injury.

The defence of Daniel Montano, Jack Hickford, Luke Britton and Connor Boyce held on well under constant pressure, but two more goals were scored before half-time.

Connor Snow took over from Bradley Clark in goal after the break, and Clark came close to pulling one back. But Feering kept the pressure on and scored three more goals.
