CORNARD United's season of cup success continues, their 1-0 victory over Stowupland Falcons on Saturday taking them through to the last 16 of the Suffolk Senior Cup.
There Chris Symes' team will meet Capel Plough – a team they beat on penalties in the competition last season – at Blackhouse Lane on November 22.

But the price of victory, which came courtesy of a sixth-minute goal from Callum Aves, was a hamstring injury to inspirational skipper Simon Hyde, who came off at the end of the first half.

Hyde was out of the squad for last night's Ridgeons League first division visit to Ipswich Wanderers, and will miss Saturday's visit to Brantham Athletic.

Wivenhoe Town, who Cornard visit in the second round of the FA Vase on November 15, were in action at home to Stanway Rovers on Tuesday, and Symes watched them win 4-1.

Prior to the last round he watched Wisbech twice. "We did our homework on them, and it paid off," he said. "Let's hope we can do the same against Wivenhoe."

Ritchie Meadows, who rejoined Cornard last week after a year travelling, was expected to play last night.
