Snooker: Lavenham in last four despite defeat

THE one remaining Sudbury and District League semi-final play-off place was grabbed by Lavenham Royal British Legion B, despite a 3-2 defeat at Sudbury SC B.
The two points they gained with wins from Michael Hazell and John Hynard wereenough for them to win their group and put them beyond the reach of Sible Hedingham, who were 4-1 winners at Long Melford Royal British Legion A.

Halstead were already as
sured of winning their group before gaining maximum points from their final match against Melford WM C.

Railway Club miss out on a play-off place, despite another 5-0 win which has seen them drop just two points from their last four matches.

Tonight's semi-finals will be played on neutral tables.

Halstead will take on Haverhill at Long Melford Royal British Legion, while the two Lavenham Royal British Legion teams will compete against each other in the other semi-final at Long Melford Working Men's Club.
