HALSTEAD Snooker Centre's fine form continued with a 4-1 Sudbury and District League win at Lavenham Royal British Legion B where Michael Hazell was the lone winner for the home side.
Haverhill's poor start continued at home against last season's champions, Bury Railway Club, who kept up their winning run with a 4-1 victory. Chris Pordage stopped the whitewash.

There was a close match at Earls Colne where visitors Lavenham Roya
l British Legion A won 3-2 thanks to a final frame win by Paul Garrard who beat Mark Harris on the black. It was Harris' second black ball frame of the night, having potted the black to beat Richard Howe in the opening frame

In the second division the derby match between the two Long Melford Royal British Legion teams resulted in a 3-2 win for the B side.

The first three frames went their way with wins from Ron Venables, Adam Webb and Lee Rowland before the A side came back with Alan Seamark winning frame four followed by success in the doubles.

Melford Working Men's C are setting the pace in the division after their 4-1 win at Sudbury Snooker Club A for whom Dean Marshall prevented the whitewash with a low scoring victory.

Melford Working Men's A narrowed their lead at the top to one point thanks to a fine 5-0 home win against Sible Hedingham. The four singles frames resulted in convincing home wins but Sible came close to winning the doubles frame.

Needing the last two balls to win, they potted the pink, but after several near misses on the black an outrageous fluke from Tibby Maxim settled it in favour of the home side.
