A TERRIFIC performance in the Great Britain junior trials regatta has raised Jenny Spencer's national ranking to fifth.
Sudbury Rowing club member Jenny, 17, was competing at Dorney World championship multi lane rowing course near Windsor.

The first race was a 1,900-metre time trial where she finished a superb fourth.

Following this she went in to the semi final ranked 4th, which gave her a good lane in against the best in the country.

Jenny sculled very well and managed a very creditable fourth, just one second behind the sculler from the Bedford High School, which put her into the B final.

In the final Jenny sculled with great maturity to win by some seconds. Her time would have given her fourth place in the A final.

These results have raised Jenny's GB ranking to fifth, this bodes well for the final GB Junior trials in June.

The next race for Jenny will be Nottingham City Regatta at the weekend.
