Rounders: England call up Becky

MISSING the England under-17s rounders trials proved no problem to Becky Howard. The 16-year-old took part in the under-18 trials instead, and has been selected for the older age squad.
Becky, from Long Melford, was part of the successful Sudbury Upper School rounders squad which had a good run in the national championships earlier this year.
The all-rounder, who has had a lot of encouragement from PE teacher Diane Banthorpe, was spotted during the run and invited for England trials.
She was unable to attend her age group trials, so instead went to the under-18 trials in Banbury at the weekend, and made the England squad.
