HALSTEAD and District Motor Cycle Club start their 2008 MX season at Little Loveney Hall, Wakes Colne, on Sunday with a meeting for Expert and Junior Riders.
A full line-up of 120 Junior riders will have to go through qualifying heats in order to get into two Junior Championship races.
Entries include a host of junior riders hoping to progress to experts. They include Lee Keyton, Will Lilford, Scott L
ondors, David Lockwood and Matthew Eley. Riders from the host club include Bradley Howlett, Scott Smith, Ross Harwood and Junior Thomas.
The Expert enties include 2007 Eastern Centre Champion Sydney Bales, and also Aston Bird, Scott Hayworth, Tim Warnes and Luke Benstead.
Within the ten-strong host club entries look out for Jason Morland, Andrew Greeny. Stuart Dyerson, Perry Callow and Brad Tomlin.
Racing is scheduled to get under way at 11.30am with the Junior Championship qualifying heats.
Admission is held at 2007 prices. Adults £7.00, OAPs, children and concessions £3.
Howlett, from Lavenham, recently competed in the first round of the DEP 2 Stroke Championships 125cc class at Canada Heights.
Despite two inches of snow on the ground the meeting went ahead and he did extremely well by taking second place in his qualifying heat by just one hundredth of a second.
With the appalling conditions only one block of racing went ahead. Howlett finished 12th overall and third junior.
The second round of the championship takes place at Landrake, Cornwall on Sunday, April 27.
Halstead and District MCC will host round six at on Sunday, August 10.
