Sudbury's first team continued their climb up the league with another hard-earned win against an experienced Cambridge side.
After weeks of slow starts to games coach Kevis demanded and got more energy from the opening whistle, and due to this the home side had the better of the opening exchanges.

en an excellent run down the right from Griffiths found Neale in the D. His powerful flick was deflected via the keeper's helmet straight on to the head of one of his defenders.
With the visitors down to ten men Sudbury should have pushed on, but it was Cambridge who had a succession of short corners, Stopps making save after save and eventually forcing the attack to stop drag flicking.
With only minutes remaining in the half Cambridge took the lead from a broken down short corner, but the scores were level before half-time when Hammond doubled his tally for the season, forcing the ball home from close range.
After the break Sudbury finally made the extra man count, and took the lead when Clubb's reverse stick shot wrong-footed the keeper and found the corner of the goal.
With the visitors tiring Sudbury pressed forward and scored their third when Tarrant found Cardy in the D, and he squared the ball for Tarrant to score into an open goal.
With the game coming to an end Cambridge pulled a goal back when Burton skilfully dribbled the ball into his own goal. This set up a scrappy final five minutes, but Sudbury held on to take all three points.
