SUDBURY chalked up their first league win of the season, leaving Bury yet to record a victory, in this basement derby match on Saturday.
Sudbury started brightly and looked dangerous from the outset, and opened the scoring with Smith and Barret combining to put Cottrell through to slam the ball past the advancing keeper.

Bury rallied, but their attacking play was stifled by Sudbury's organisation and aggresiveness, which won back possession.

Right back and player-of-the-match Coleman picked up the ball midway into the Bury half and forced her way into the D where she unleashed a ferocious shot to put the visitors two up.

Sudbury's third came when Sloan fired a free hit into Cottrell, who turned her marker and slotted her second into the net.

Bury weren't disheartend, and attacked in numbers, forcing MacKay to make some good saves, but their persistence paid off shortly before the half-time whistle when they got a goal back.

Although the second half saw no more goals, there were plenty of chances as both sides won short corners and both keepers were called into action.
