Golf: Brace takes second in Shootout

SCOTT Brace finished joint second in the High Country Shootout at Ruidoso, New Mexico. Playing for the South Mountain Community College in a four-team tournament Brace finished 14 under on 202.
Brace, who plays at Stoke-by-Nayland, is in his first year at South Mountain Community College in Arizona. The team, which led after the first round, finished in fourth place.

Brace shot 65 in the first round on Sunday on the par 72 Sierra Blanca
course, and followed this with a 70 in the second round in the afternoon.

He then returned a 67 in the final round on Monday, but his Cougars team finished fourth behind Western Texas, Midland and Odessa College.
