SUDBURY boxers will be among the smartest on show in the region this season, thanks to a new sponsorship deal.
Jon Smith, of Carsworth Pentlow (formerly Crasworth, Glemsford), is sponsoring new team kit for Sudbury ABC, and handed over the new warm-up and ring ponchos to the club on Friday.

He also gave the club a rare collector's item, to be auctioned at
the next dinner show on Friday, November 7 –- a cased competition glove signed by former World heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, which comes with full authentication certificates.

Commission bids are invited ahead of the show, when the auction will take place, and can be made by calling club treasurer Charlie Lawson on 01787 311557.

Charlie said: "Everyone at the club is very grateful to Jon and we are pleased to have his backing as we go into the new season.

"Without all of the generous local businesses and our official club sponsor, Carsworth, our club would not survive."

The sponsorship deal came about after the club's last show, earlier this year.

At shows, in exchange for programme advertising, businesses are asked to make a donation to help with travelling costs.

After the show club coach Richard Groves was approached by Jon Smith, who offered kit sponsorship instead, and the Carsworth logo will now get plenty of ring time.

Tickets for the black tie show, priced at £35, are available from Charlie Lawson on the number above.
