It's a scandal

THE decision by Babergh councillors to demolish Belle Vue House is nothing less than a scandal. What is the matter with these people? Do they have no sense of history or appreciation of heritage? This magnificent old building surely deserves better.
Presumably those responsible for this act of mad vandalism are the same bright sparks who decided to pave the area outside the front of the town hall only to have most of it dug up again a year later and replaced with Tarmac and grit. It’s like something out of Alice in Wonderland. At least they have the good grace to feel ashamed of themselves, otherwise why all the secrecy?

Babergh councillors were supposedly elected to serve the citizens of Sudbury and surrounding areas, but they just pay lip service to the idea of listening to people, all the while seeming to take a perverse pleasure in riding roughshod over the feelings of the majority of people and arriving at the most incomprehensible decisions. Once again, they have voted to rip the guts out of this formerly charming little town.

I could go on, but it’s time for my medication.
