If our councillors are kept in the dark (Free Press, September 11) what chance have we?
I do urge all organisations, Tim Yeo MP, and Churches Together to support Michael Irwin in his quest to save Belle Vue park, house and gardens for future generations to enjoy as we have enjoyed.

We elderly are not listened to now, but here is a young lad saying: “I have been going to Belle Vue all my life.”

Well so have several of my generation, and I hope my grandchild may do so, too.

There is something else nobody seems to mention. A rare mulberry tree. Has it a preservation order on it? If not, get one quick. A colony of golden-crested newts can be reintroduced in a year, but not a fruitful mulberry tree such as that one.

Save Belle Vue House, its gardens, play area and sports field. Get behind Michael Irwin and let’s fight.
