I AM concerned that there still appears to be some dispute about the invitations for membership of the Sudbury and Locality Community Implementation Group (Free Press, April 17).
The main role of this group is to give advice to the primary care trust from a community perspective in the planning of the new healthcare facility within the Sudbury locality and that is why the initial letters of March 10 asked for elected member representation from Sudbury Town Council and from Babergh District Council.

This is a very exciting time for West Suffolk and particularly for Sudbury.

The discussions about a new facility in Sudbury have been going on for many years and have been plagued by disagreements, financial problems and by policy changes.

The recommendations of the Independent Reconfiguration Board and the Secretary of State for Health have been welcomed by all and will form the basis of the plans for the new facilities.

It is very important that we all work together for the benefit of the people of the Sudbury area.

Dr ANNE NICHOLLS

Chairman

Sudbury and Locality

Implementation Group
