THE latest development in the Tesco saga in Hadleigh is that the minority opposition group has brought a Welsh comedian into the fray (Free Press, June 11).
Griff Rhys Jones has been indoctrinated with sensationalised propaganda by the anti-bodies and has been performing on TV against the wishes of the people of Hadleigh in their campaign for a supermarket in the town.

Focusing his tirade on a few allotments, which, admittedly will be lost to the access road, but for which an alternative site has already been allocated adjacent to the existing, he has succeeded in incensing the local inhabitants with his interfering.

We do not need an outsider trying to prevent us from having what we want.

No doubt his next target will be Manningtree and then Halesworth. We certainly do not want him in Hadleigh.

I suggest he concentrates his efforts where the grass is green, green, greener.

R H H SMITH

Chairman
