Sudbury's twin town citizens are proud to be linked with their Suffolk counterpart, too.
Chairman of Sudbury's town twinning association, Eileen Clayton, said guests from twins Clermont in France and Hoxter in Germany have heaped praise on Sudbury.

"They are charmed by the beautiful setting with its rich architecture, its river and water meadows, and the facilities it offers for all age groups.

"The Sudbury Society has organised several tours of the town for our visitors, and many of us have seen the delightful little alleyways, the hidden treasures, the wealth of historical detail through the eyes of our guests, and we have appreciated this jewel of a town even more.

"We don't always value what is on our doorstep and it is so enlightening to hear the comments of visitors who just love the town.

"And the shops in Sudbury are well stocked and the staff are well trained, friendly and knowledgeable."
