We could not do it alone

The organisers of the Sudbury Fun Run 2014 – its 32nd year – would like to say that they are very grateful for all the help and support they received from a wide range of people, businesses, clubs and organisations and would like to thank them all.

The list is a long one and includes Waitrose, Zest Gym, Adrian Rimmer, Wardale Williams, LAC Group, Simply Insurance Group, Daro and Patrick Lowman.

Thanks also to the Explorer Scouts, the Guides, Gryphon First Aid, Sudbury in Bloom and, of course, all at the town council, including the mayor for starting the event and presenting the trophies, and the community wardens for helping with marshalling and course construction.

However, this would have been a bit pointless without the most important people – the participants of both the race and the sponsored walk – so we would like to thank all those who took part and raised money for the three causes supported by the fun run this year. They were the East Anglian Air Ambulance, The Bridge Project and the Marion Blower Appeal.

The sum raised will be announced shortly, but we would also like to thank those participants who raised additional money for these and other causes.

We handed out more than 30 awards this year – the newest being for the first three runners in the over-50s section. So those of us who are over 50 should be out practising for next year’s event.

Many thanks to everyone – your help and participation is much appreciated.
