SOME of the most deprived people in Sudbury are being given a rare opportunity to make drastic changes in their lives.
Expanding charity Workwise is offering the innovative social enterprise Goals programme to individuals in the town.
The charity usually focuses on supporting those with mental health issues, but is offering the programme to all members of society, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.
During the scheme, which is free, participants will attend workshops and draw up personal action plans to find employment, improve their careers and achieve their personal aspirations.
The workshops will be held at venues around Sudbury, including the Christopher Centre in Gainsborough Street.
Valerie Beresford, Workwise chief executive, said: “The programme is a powerful catalyst that speeds up the process of change in people’s lives.
“It is not just a quick fix – it provides people with the basic tools to take charge of their lives.”
