A woman has died at Parkway multi-storey car park in Bury St Edmunds – two weeks after Long Melford butcher Oliver Ruse died in an apparent suicide jump.

Police officers were called to reports that a woman had fallen from the car park at 8.40am today (Friday).

Police and ambulance personnel attended the scene and the woman was taken by ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital, where she died a short while later. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained while inquiries continue.

The car park was closed to members of the public for a short while, but has now reopened with the exception of one level.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that may assist officers with their inquiries, is asked to contact the duty sergeant at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101, quoting CAD 79 of 28/11.
