A SERIAL fundraiser, fresh from running a half-marathon, has decided to put herself through twice the pain in aid of charity.
Jess Gould, 21, from Assington, will run the Brighton Marathon on April 15 in an attempt to raise £1,000 for Whizz Kids, having completed the Colchester half-marathon on March 11.
“I have never run a full marathon before and I’m a bit nervous,” she said.
“I’m doing it for Whizz Kids as it helps disabled children get around more and do more activities like wheelchair basketball.”
This is not Jess’s first foray into fundraising. In March 2010, she shaved her head for Cancer Research, raising around £3,000.
She began her training in November and has set herself a target for completing the marathon.
“The half-marathon was really hard,” she said. “I did it in just under one hour and 40 minutes, so I would be really chuffed if I can do the full one in about three hours and 40 minutes.”
