The next time you are passing Kingfisher Leisure Centre, do not forget to see how the edible flower beds are coming along – you might be able to pick some plants for your tea.
Members of the eco group Transition Sudbury have planted edible flowers, herbs and foraging plants outside the leisure centre.
Once established, the group wants to encourage people to pick small amounts to taste, or to take home for salads or as pizza toppings.
The project is supported by Babergh District Council and South Suffolk Leisure, which manages the leisure centre.
Chief executive Tracey Copping said: “I think it’s a great initiative – I can’t wait to snip some nice bits to take home for supper.”
