Walkers are being called upon to raise money for charity by entering the Sudbury Fun Run.
With entry into the five-mile race now full, organisers are looking to encourage people to take part in the walk that follows the same course on March 29.
Unlike the race, which caters for 500 competitors, an unlimited number of people can sign up to complete the walk around the streets of Sudbury and Great Cornard.
“We now have a full contingent of runners but there is still time for walkers to enter,” said Jonathan Price, one of the race organisers.
“The event is open to both serious walkers and those who just want to have a bit of fun or to raise money for good causes.
“We would urge anyone who hasn’t entered before to give it a go. There is a really good atmosphere and many people come out to watch and cheer on the participants – it is a fantastic experience.”
Money raised from the event, which has been held for more than 25 years, will go to The Quay Theatre, Eden’s Project, AFC Grassroots, Go START, Helping Hands and Diabetes UK.
