STAFF, volunteers and supporters of a Sudbury counselling centre are digging out their trainers as they prepare to walk a 10-mile stretch of the River Thames.
Around 20 people with links to the Kernos Centre in Friars Street will be walking from Putney to Tower Bridge on Saturday to raise money for the charity.
The centre is aiming to boost funds to enable it to stick by one of its founding principles of only charging people what they can afford.
Annabel Wyatt, who works at the centre and will be walking the route with her dog Meg, said the money would go into a fund for people who normally could not access help.
“The money is desperately needed and everyone has been doing lots of walking to get ready, including Meg, who has been coming with me in training,” she said.
“We’re all looking forward to it.”
