Walkers help home raise £200

A SPONSORED walk raised more than £200 for a residents’ fund at a Sudbury care home.

Staff from Catchpole Court in Walnut Tree Lane were joined by family members of those living at the home as they completed the eight-mile round trip from the home to the Crown pub in Acton on Tuesday morning.

Personal activities leader Anne Roche said the event, which followed on from the home’s Easter celebrations that saw St Gregory’s Primary School pupils making Easter bonnets, raised more than £200.

“It was fantastic and an extremely successful event,” she said.

“We enjoyed a free buffet at the pub and it was all a lot of fun.”

Mrs Roche added that the event was so successful that the home was planning on doing it again next year and that the money raised would go towards entertainment and trips out for the residents.
