STAFF from Winch and Blatch have handed over a cheque for more than £1,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The money was raised through a 10-mile fancy dress sponsored walk in Braintree, completed by 15 members of staff and their families, and takes the total amount raised by the store to £2,500 this year.
Sharon Game, sales advisor at the store on Market Hill, Sudbury, said: “Our target was to raise £1,000 so we have gone well past that. If we can get to £3,000 then that would be great.”
The walkers, known collectively as “Winch’s Wanderers”, donned green tutus, leg warmers and Macmillan T-shirts for the event.
Sales advisor Barry Rock said: “Cancer has touched everyone’s lives in some way, and nobody has anything but praise for the work that Macmillan do, so it is one of the big charities people support.
“It’s the second year we’ve done it, we’ve had a great laugh and we’ve raised a lot for charity.”
