More than 300 people attended a beer festival and dog show in Belchamp St Paul on Tuesday, with villagers making the most of the brighter weather on the last day of the jubilee bank holiday weekend.
Half Moon pub landlord Paul Acton said: “Not a lot happens in Belchamp St Paul so we wanted to do something special.
“The festival ran over the four days but Saturday and Sunday were a washout, as was part of Monday.
“On Tuesday we had really good weather and we must have had about 300 people there, mostly from Belchamp St Paul I think.”
The dog show to find the waggiest tail, the cutest dog, the best behaved and scruffiest proved a winner, with about 50 pooches taking part.
There were also races for non-canine competitors, including the egg and spoon, the three-legged, sack and wheelbarrow race with prizes for winners.
The village also staged a fete on Sunday with games and stalls.
