A 69-year-old man from Sudbury, who died yesterday (Wednesday) following a road traffic accident involving a lorry in Newton Road, has been named as Rodney Williams.

Mr Williams, of Newton Road, died at the scene shortly after 1pm.

He was struck by a lorry while out walking with his wife.

Police were called to the scene after reports of a collision, with the road closed to traffic as an investigation got under way.

Officers are asking anyone who saw the collision, who has not yet spoken to them, to contact the serious collision investigation team at Suffolk Police by dialling 101, quoting CAD 177.
