Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Sible Headingham earlier this month which left a father-of-two with life-changing leg injuries.

Timothy Mardon, aged in his 40s, was shot through a bedroom door by intruders at his home in The Old Rectory early on Saturday, February 6, and is still in hospital.

The two men, who are aged 27 and 23, and both from Sible Hedingham, were arrested shortly after midnight today on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary.

Earlier this week, Crimestoppers launched an offer £5,000 to anyone with information which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Antonia Litten, Regional Manager for Crimestoppers in Essex, said: “This must have been a terrifying and traumatic experience for the victim. It is vital that those responsible are caught to ensure that they cannot strike again.”
