Three friends and keen walkers from Great Cornard have decided to use their hobby to raise money for charity, taking on a ‘Cornard to the coast’ challenge to support Cancer Research UK.

Originally planned as a personal challenge, Alan Giles, 21, Joe, 21, and Callum, 17, Andrews-Worth, are walking from Alan’s home in Nursery Road, Great Cornard, to the pier in Clacton-On-Sea on January 31.

Estimated to take around 10 hours, the trio will be leaving at 6am in order to complete the 28.2-mile route.

They say the only thing that will stop them is a January snow shower.

The trio are keen walkers and have recently walked to Colchester.

They decided the next walk should be a big one, in order to help out the charity. Other walks, including one to Cambridge, are planned for the future.
