The family of a four-year-old girl with a rare form of eye cancer are readying themselves for a dramatic hair loss this weekend.

Wendy Oxendale, from Scotland Street in Stoke-by-Nayland, along with her brother Darren Porter and his son Chris, from Churchill Avenue, Sudbury, are having their heads shaved to raise funds for Children With Cancer on Saturday.

The trio are shedding their locks at HBL Hairdressers in North Street, Sudbury, to raise awareness of retinoblastoma cancer, a condition which Mrs Oxendale’s daughter, Georgie, suffers from.

The youngster is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment for the illness, which affects the retina and can result in the loss of the eye.

To sponsor the trio’s head shave, which is taking place at 11am, contact Mrs Oxendale on 07972 210154.
