MORE than 300 visitors attended a showcase of collectibles from years gone by on Sunday.

Monks Eleigh Bygones Collectors’ Club held its exhibition at Long Melford Village Hall, with around 20 people displaying their collections.

Club chairman Paul Goodchild said: “It went very well – it was a lot more successful than last year’s event.

“Some of our members have bigger machinery but this was for people with smaller items.

“We had things like tins, cigarette cards and radios – all sorts really.”

The group holds meetings on the first Friday of every month at Long Melford’s Royal British Legion Social Club and now boasts more than 150 members.

A table top sale will be held in the social club on March 25, with a classic motorcycle show scheduled for the same venue on April 15.
