A STOKE-by-Nayland man has won an award for his tireless community work.
Tony Leigh-Pollitt, of Polstead Street, was recognised for the support he has provided to a variety of projects within the village at Suffolk Acre Community Initiative Awards last Wednesday.
Tony, 73, received the Campbell Cup, which is presented to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to community work.
“I am absolutely delighted with the award,” he said.
“I have lived in the village for 13 years and been involved with quite a few projects but I have always been helped by lots of others who have been kind and supportive.”
Among his work for the village, Tony has played a key role in raising money for the renovation of the village hall and building a skate ramp on the Recreation Ground.
