To celebrate two years of The Friends of Great Cornard Community Library, the group’s AGM will focus on library fundamentals; books and reading.

The meeting will focus on young people, with English teacher Jane Wakeman, from Thomas Gainsborough School, presenting a talk titled ‘Reading for Success’.

She will outline the importance of reading for success and talk about the TGS 50 – a list of books everyone should read before they leave school.

The talk will include tips on how to support children to carry on reading when they go to secondary school and tricks for keeping them interested in reading throughout their time at school.

The meeting takes place on Thursday, May 19, at 7.30pm in the library in Head Lane, Great Cornard.

The presentation is followed by a brief AGM. Refreshments to be provided.
