Hairdressers at Fanboo in Sudbury’s Borehamgate Precinct are swapping scissors for whisks and mixing bowls tomorrow.

The hair salon will be transformed into a bakery and tea shop as its staff and customers hold a bake off competition to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Sudbury mayor Jack Owen faces the tough job of sampling a range of cakes, cookies, biscuits, scones and muffins donated by customers, and declaring one of them a bake off winner - the prize being a free hair cut and style at the salon.

Fanboo owner Susan Sanders said: “This is a very important charity. We hope people will have fun, tuck in and support a very good cause.”

Following the bake off judging at 11am, hair salon staff will be serving tea, coffee, cakes and freshly-baked goodies.
