A TEENAGER from Long Melford has made it through to the public vote of a national beauty pageant.
Carrie Hibble, 14, from High Street, was spotted while at a Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model show earlier this year, and asked to take part in a photoshoot for the Teen Princess UK 2012 competition.
Having been selected for this month’s shortlist of 45 girls in the 13 to 15 bracket, her picture has gone online, where the two girls with the most votes will go through to the grand final in September next year.
“When I found out I was excited,” said Carrie, who is in Year 10 at Sudbury Upper School.
“My friends were quite impressed. Some of them have voted for me.”
The competition has been a positive experience overall, according to her mother, Sarah.
“It’s been great. They have been really good to her,” said Mrs Hibble. “I was a bit worried about pressure on her but it has given Carrie a much better impression of modelling.”
Voting closes at noon tomorrow.
