YOUNG artists showed they were top of the tree after winning a Christmas competition.

Sudbury in Bloom invited children from schools in Sudbury to design a star for the group’s entry to the town’s Christmas tree festival.

The winner was Max St Ledger, with Kate Wood and Mia Mychajluk finishing second and third respectively.

Sudbury in Bloom committee member Shiela Nicoll said: “All the entries were really creative and it was very inspiring.

“They were provided with a template to design their stars, which were then put on the Christmas tree and judged by Sudbury in Bloom chairman Nick Irwin.”

The three winning children won a selection of art supplies, including a colouring book.

After the tree festival, the Sudbury in Bloom tree, along with the specially-designed stars, went on show at Sudbury Town Council.
