Sudbury’s Waitrose supermarket is launching a scheme to help support homeless and vulnerable people.

The store is aiming to provide Christmas lunch for people who would otherwise be on their own.

It is keen for organisations in the town which hold Christmas lunch events to get in contact to request help in the form of food, funding or volunteer hours.

“We want to try to reduce the number of people who are lonely at Christmas,” said David Ayre, the branch’s personal manager.
