A Sudbury woman died in hospital after undergoing surgery for a fracture sustained in a fall at her home, an inquest has heard.
Phyllis Inch, 90, was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital after falling over a step in her living room.
On Monday the inquest at Bury St Edmunds heard how despite being treated for her injuries, she had died soon after the operation on August 10.
A post mortem showed that in addition to the fracture, she had suffered a ruptured blood vessel.
Assistant Suffolk Coroner Dr Daniel Sharpstone recorded a conclusion that Phyllis Inch died as a consequence of a fall.
