STAFF from a Sudbury solicitors are limbering up for the Race for Life this weekend.

The five women from Bates, Wells and Braithwaite in Friars Street will undertake the 5km run in Castle Park, Colchester, on Sunday to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The team is looking to raise around £500 in donations, with the company’s partners pledging to match the total.

Civil litigation solicitor Kate Barnes took part in the event last year, raising £400.

She said: “I have been in training and am hoping to run the distance, although others might choose to walk it.

“Some members of the team have had close family experiences with cancer, so we decided it would be nice to try to raise some money.”

There are still places available for the race, which starts at 2pm. For more information, visit www.raceforlife.org.
